4 Kilos is a small winery based in Mallorca, producing wine under the Vino de la Tierra Mallorca IGP designation. The project is known for working with indigenous Balearic grape varieties and has attracted attention within Spain's natural and artisan wine circles for its low-intervention approach.
Mallorca's wine culture is older than its tourist reputation suggests, with viticulture on the island dating back to antiquity. The Vino de la Tierra Mallorca IGP covers the island and allows producers to work with both local and international varieties, though the most compelling wines tend to draw on native grapes adapted to the island's warm, dry Mediterranean climate and varied soils. Callet, a red variety indigenous to Mallorca, is central to the island's identity — it produces wines that tend toward medium body with red fruit character and can reflect a distinctly local sense of place when vinified with restraint.
The 12 Volts bottling, made from Callet, is among 4 Kilos' known labels. The name references voltage rather than weight, suggesting an approach that prioritises energy and freshness over extraction — a characteristic associated with lighter-touch winemaking from this grape.
