Tasting notes

The 2015 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo shows a dark garnet color and robust appearance. Very characteristic of this extreme territory, this is a dark and penetrating wine with etched mineral notes behind blackberry, plum and savory spice. This vintage presents an even darker quality of fruit. In the mouth, you get iron, blood and dark mineral nuances that are absolutely typical of these darkened volcanic soils. This wine needs more time to integrate in the bottle before you pop the cork.

About this wine

Elena Fucci is a pioneering producer in Basilicata, crafting wines of exceptional minerality and elegance from the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture. The estate has established itself as a benchmark for authentic Aglianico del Vulture DOCG, a full-bodied red wine with a distinctive character shaped by the region's unique terroir. Built on ancient volcanic soils, these vineyards produce wines of remarkable depth and complexity.

Titolo showcases the Elena Fucci philosophy: allowing the Aglianico grape to express the essence of its environment. This red wine displays the characteristic black fruit intensity and spicy minerality that define Aglianico del Vulture, with medium(+) alcohol and balanced acidity that rewards both immediate enjoyment and cellaring. The wine's structure and sophistication make it an ideal companion for beef, lamb, venison, and aged cheeses like Gruyère and Manchego, while its minerality cuts beautifully through oily fish and grilled vegetables.
