Tasting notes

Alma Gran Cuvée brut - a Franciacorta in the classic Bellavista style, modern yet very elegant and complex. Aromatic bouquet, fine perlage, wonderfully integrated fruit on the palate with a delicate mellowness, plus well-balanced acidity, harmoniously long and deep.

About this sparkling wine

Bellavista is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of Franciacorta, Italy. The winery was founded in 1977 by Vittorio Moretti, who had a passion for creating high-quality sparkling wines. The 'Alma' Cuvee Brut is one of their most popular wines, and it is made using the traditional method of secondary fermentation in the bottle.

The history of Bellavista dates back to the 1970s when Vittorio Moretti purchased a small vineyard in Franciacorta. He was inspired by the Champagne region of France and wanted to create a similar style of sparkling wine in Italy. Moretti spent years studying the art of winemaking and experimenting with different grape varieties and production methods. In 1977, he founded Bellavista, and the winery quickly gained a reputation for producing some of the best sparkling wines in Italy.

The 'Alma' Cuvee Brut is made using a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, which are grown in the vineyards surrounding the winery. The grapes are handpicked and carefully selected to ensure only the best quality fruit is used. The wine is then fermented in stainless steel tanks before undergoing secondary fermentation in the bottle. This process gives the wine its signature bubbles and complex flavour profile.

The 'Alma' Cuvee Brut has a pale straw colour and a fine, persistent mousse. On the nose, it has aromas of green apple, lemon, and brioche. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing, with flavours of citrus and a hint of minerality. The wine has a long, elegant finish and is perfect for pairing with seafood, poultry, or light pasta dishes.

Bellavista is committed to sustainable winemaking practices and has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce their environmental impact. They use natural fertilisers and pest control methods in their vineyards and have installed solar panels to generate renewable energy. The winery also has a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system, which ensures that their production processes do not harm the local ecosystem.

In conclusion, Bellavista's 'Alma' Cuvee Brut is a high-quality sparkling wine that is perfect for any occasion. The winery's commitment to sustainability and their dedication to producing the best possible wines has earned them a well-deserved reputation as one of Italy's top wine producers.
