Patron

Patrón is a Mexican tequila producer founded in 1989 by John Paul DeJoria and Martin Crowley. The brand sources 100% Blue Weber agave from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, where the volcanic soil and climate create ideal growing conditions for premium agave cultivation. All Patrón tequilas are produced using traditional methods including tahona stone grinding and copper pot distillation at their distillery in Jalisco.

The highlands of Jalisco, known as Los Altos, produce agaves with higher sugar content and more complex flavor profiles compared to lowland regions. This terroir contributes to Patrón's characteristic smooth, clean taste with subtle citrus and pepper notes. The production process involves slow cooking the agave hearts in small brick ovens, natural fermentation with proprietary yeast strains, and careful attention to each batch throughout distillation.

The current range includes Silver (blanco), Reposado aged in oak barrels, and Añejo aged for extended periods. The El Alto expression represents their highland terroir focus, while the brand offers various formats including traditional bottles and smaller format options for sampling different expressions of their 100% agave tequila production.
