Bachelet-Monnot

Bachelet-Monnot is a domaine based in Burgundy, producing white wines from Puligny-Montrachet, one of the Côte de Beaune's most celebrated appellations. The estate works with Chardonnay, the grape variety that defines white Burgundy at every level from village to grand cru.

Puligny-Montrachet sits at the southern end of the Côte d'Or and is widely regarded as the benchmark appellation for dry white Burgundy. Its soils are predominantly limestone and clay, producing Chardonnay wines that tend toward minerality, precision, and restrained richness rather than overt fruitiness. The village appellation itself offers wines that reflect these characteristics in a more accessible register than the premier and grand cru vineyards that surround it, while still showing the structural clarity typical of the commune.

The current range includes a village-level Puligny-Montrachet from the 2023 vintage, a year that saw warm, dry conditions across much of Burgundy, with harvest arriving earlier than historical averages. Village Puligny-Montrachet is vinified from Chardonnay grown within the commune's boundaries but outside the classified vineyard sites, making it a genuine introduction to the appellation's character.
