Tasting Notes

ITEM AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE WITHIN FRANCE AND MONACO. Building on a legacy of handcrafted, record-breaking, award-winning whiskeys, The Brollach is an ultra-rare Single Malt and a true whiskey of a lifetime. Released on Father’s Day 2021 with only 661 bottles, it is a tribute to the unbreakable bond between father and son. Double-distilled and double-casked, The Brollach delivers an exceptionally rare whiskey of exquisite depth and character. Honoring family, Ireland, and the rich heritage of Irish whiskey, it stands as a pinnacle of craftsmanship and tradition. Nose: Apricot, butterscotch, and velvety tarte tatin. Palate: Dark cherry with a hint of sourness that softens into dark chocolate. Finish: Caramelised banana that lingers in an oily, almost velvet-like mouthfeel. The Brollach is no stranger to recognition, earning top honors such as a Master Medal at The Spirits Business Awards 2021 and Gold at The DBSB Autumn Tasting 2022. Its exceptional craftsmanship continues to set the standard for excellence. Presented in a natural oak case containing a bottle of whiskey, two Finn glasses, an anodised silver and glass pipette, a vial of Irish spring water, a vial of The Brollach, and four obsidian whiskey stones.

Irish single malt whiskey is produced under similar regulations to Scotch whisky but within Ireland's borders. The spirit must be distilled at a licensed Irish distillery, aged in oak casks for a minimum of three years, and bottled at a minimum of 40% ABV. Irish whiskey production has expanded significantly over the past two decades, with new distilleries complementing established producers across the country. Single malts from Ireland tend toward characteristics influenced by the country's climate and water sources, though flavor profiles vary considerably depending on cask type, distillation methods, and aging conditions employed by individual producers.
