The 2021 Petit-Figeac is an immensely pretty, pure, charming wine, bursting with aromas of raspberry coulis, violets, blood orange and rose petals, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and suave palate that's bright and precise, with a succulent core of fruit and melting tannins. It will be hard to resist on release.
Petit Figeac represents the accessible side of one of Bordeaux's most prestigious estates. Château Figeac, located in the heart of Saint-Émilion, has crafted world-class red wines for generations from its exceptional terroir. This wine blends Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the classic Bordeaux combination, delivering the elegance and complexity the region is renowned for.
The Saint-Émilion appellation's distinctive clay and limestone soils impart a refined character to Petit Figeac, with soft tannins and layers of red and black fruit balanced by subtle earthy notes and hints of spice. This is a versatile red suited to both casual entertaining and fine dining occasions, pairing beautifully with lamb, duck, beef, and aged cheeses. Whether enjoyed now or cellared for future enjoyment, Petit Figeac offers genuine Bordeaux quality and heritage at a more approachable price point than the flagship grand vin.
