San Miguel

San Miguel is a lager brand with origins in the Philippines, where it was first brewed in the late nineteenth century. It has since expanded significantly, with brewing operations established across Europe, most notably in Spain, where San Miguel Fabricas de Cerveza y Malta has operated since the mid-twentieth century. Today the brand is closely associated with Spanish lager and is widely distributed across international markets.

The beer is brewed in the pale lager style, characterized by a light golden colour, a clean malt character, and moderate bitterness. It is typically fermented at low temperatures, producing a crisp, refreshing profile that has made it a standard reference point for everyday European lager. The Spanish-brewed version and the Philippine original are produced under separate ownership but share the same name and broadly similar style.
