Adiccion Tequila

Adiccion Tequila is a Mexican spirits producer making tequila, the agave-based spirit that by law must be produced in designated regions of Mexico, primarily the state of Jalisco and parts of several neighbouring states. The spirit takes its name from the town of Tequila in Jalisco and is made from blue agave (Agave tequilana Weber), which must constitute at least 51% of the fermentable sugars in a mixto, or 100% in a tequila labelled as such.

Añejo is one of the principal aged categories of tequila, defined by Mexican regulations as spirit rested in oak barrels for a minimum of one year and no more than three years. The time in wood softens the raw agave character and introduces notes of vanilla, caramel, dried fruit, and spice, while the best examples retain enough agave presence to remain distinctly tequila rather than simply an oak-driven spirit. The barrel size is capped at 600 litres, which encourages meaningful wood contact over the ageing period.

Adiccion Tequila's current range centres on an Añejo expression, placing the brand within the aged tequila category where the spirit is intended for slower, more contemplative drinking rather than mixing.
