Paso-Primero is an independent family business located in Somontano, in the central Pyrenees of northern Spain. Winemakers Thomas and Emma Holt settled in the region to fulfil their ambition to combine ancient traditions and modern techniques to make their own wines in their own style. Traditional fermentation based on temperature in stainless vats and ageing partly in barrels and stainless vats which gives the wine a nice balance. Exuberant and charming, a rich and fruity wine with aromas of black cherries coated in chocolate, liquorice and toasted oak and a freshness finish.

Aragon is a wine region located in northeastern Spain, known for its rich history and diverse wine production. The region has been producing wine since the Roman times, and its winemaking traditions have been passed down through generations.

The style of production in Aragon varies depending on the sub-region. In the north, the Somontano sub-region produces full-bodied red wines made from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes. These wines are known for their complexity and aging potential.

In the central part of Aragon, the Cariñena sub-region produces red wines made from Garnacha and Cariñena grapes. These wines are known for their fruity and spicy notes, and are often aged in oak barrels.

The Calatayud sub-region, located in the southwest, produces red wines made from Garnacha grapes. These wines are known for their intense fruit flavors and high alcohol content.

In addition to red wines, Aragon also produces white wines and rosés. The white wines are made from Macabeo, Chardonnay, and Garnacha Blanca grapes, and are known for their crisp acidity and citrus flavors. The rosés are made from Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes, and are known for their fruity and floral aromas.

Overall, Aragon is a diverse wine region that offers a range of styles and flavors to suit any palate. Its rich history and winemaking traditions make it a must-visit destination for wine lovers.
