Hints of toasted bread mingling with citrus oil and ripe pear preface the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes, a medium to full-bodied, textural, and ripe wine that's muscular and enveloping, underpinned by succulent acids and concluding with fine length.
Located just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the largest white wine-producing commune in the southern Côte-d'Or. While the appellation lacks Grands Crus, its outstanding Premiers Crus more than makeup for it. The Meursault "Charmes" vineyard, situated just south of the village, is renowned for producing some of the finest wines in the region.
Its mineral-rich, well-drained soil provides the perfect foundation for Chardonnay, yielding opulent wines with aromas of ripe peaches, apples, and hazelnuts. The name "Charmes" refers to its historical origins as a plateau with little vegetation or fallow land.
With its pale yellow hue, our Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" enchants with a rich bouquet of white fruits, toasted almonds, and a delicate buttery touch. The palate is generous and supple, leading to a bright citrus finish.
