The 2019 Morgon Côte du Py Les Impénitents is showing brilliantly, but that won't surprise followers of this cuvée that's routinely among the Beaujolais' finest and most age-worthy wines. Offering up a deep-pitched bouquet of blackberries, cassis and raspberries complemented by hints of smoked meats and peonies, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with phenomenal concentration, lively acids and an elegantly muscular chassis of powdery tannin, concluding with a long and penetrating finish
