The nose is dominated by graphite, with restrained notes of wild blackberries, meat, balsamic and aromatic herbs. The attack is supple, with a full body, youthful fruit character and muscular but very fine tannins that combine with refreshing acidity and a sharp tobacco aftertaste. It needs another year or two to age to integrate the oak, but it will last for decades.
"A rich, medium- to full-bodied red, with a fragrant thread of chopped marjoram, orange peel and spice box winding through concentrated flavours of cherry reduction, damson plum preserves, red liquorice and tarry mineral. Firm and chewy, though balanced overall, with a tightly coiled, well-spiced finish
