Chateau Monbousquet

Chateau Monbousquet is a renowned wine producer located in the prestigious Saint-Emilion appellation in the Bordeaux region of France. This historic estate has a rich history dating back to the 16th century, and has been owned by the Perse family since 1993.

The estate covers 92 hectares, with 70 hectares dedicated to vineyards planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The vineyards are located on a plateau with a limestone and clay soil, providing ideal conditions for grape cultivation. The vineyards are also carefully managed and sorted by hand to ensure the highest quality grapes for production.

The wines of Chateau Monbousquet are known for their elegance, depth, and complexity. This is due in part to the unique terroir of the Saint-Emilion appellation, but also to the expertise of winemaker Michel Rolland, who has been consulting for the estate since 1995. Rolland is known for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to bring out the best in each vintage.

Chateau Monbousquet produces a range of wines, including their flagship red wine, Chateau Monbousquet Grand Cru, which is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18-22 months, resulting in a rich and full-bodied wine with notes of dark fruits, spices, and a hint of minerality. The estate also produces a second wine, La Grange de Monbousquet, which is made from younger vines and is aged for 12-14 months in oak barrels. This wine is more approachable and fruit-forward, making it an ideal option for earlier consumption.

In addition to their red wines, Chateau Monbousquet also produces a small quantity of white wine, made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes. This wine is crisp and refreshing
