the NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 746 is based on the 2018 vintage. The grapes were sourced from Avize and Oiry (32%) and Hauvillers (68%). Showing nicely, it offers up a delicate, ripe bouquet with aromas of baked bread, ripe orchard fruits, almonds, dried flowers and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, it’s fleshy with an enveloping core of fruit, a pinpoint mousse and a delicate, perfumed, ripe orchard fruit-inflected finish.

Jacquesson is a renowned Champagne producer that has been crafting exceptional wines since the early 19th century. The house was founded in 1798 by Memmie Jacquesson, and it has been passed down through the family ever since. Today, the house is run by brothers Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet, who have continued the tradition of producing high-quality, terroir-driven Champagnes.

Jacquesson is known for its unique approach to Champagne production. The house focuses on single-vineyard Champagnes, which are made from grapes grown in specific plots of land. This allows the wines to express the unique characteristics of the terroir, resulting in wines that are complex, nuanced, and full of character.

In addition to its focus on terroir, Jacquesson is also known for its use of oak barrels in the production of its Champagnes. The house uses a combination of new and old oak barrels to age its wines, which adds depth and complexity to the final product.

Jacquesson produces a range of Champagnes, including its flagship Cuvée 700, which is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. This wine is aged for at least five years before release, resulting in a wine that is rich, complex, and full of character.

Other notable wines from Jacquesson include its Avize Champ Cain, which is made from grapes grown in the Avize vineyard, and its Dizy Corne Bautray, which is made from grapes grown in the Dizy vineyard. Both of these wines are single-vineyard Champagnes that showcase the unique characteristics of their respective terroirs.

Overall, Jacquesson is a producer that is known for its commitment to quality and its unique approach to Champagne production. Its wines are complex, nuanced, and full of character, making them a must-try for any Champagne lover.
