The 2019 Lanessan continues to perform very well, wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet berries, licorice and fresh tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with rich, powdery tannins and a vibrant core of fruit, it's a fine effort from a property with immense potential.
Softer and more open-knit than the 2014, the 2015 Lanessan unfurls with aromas of sweet berries, forest floor and pipe tobacco, followed by a medium-bodied, ample palate framed by melting tannins. A charmer, it will be at its best in the comparatively near term.

Chateau Lanessan is a renowned wine producer located in the Haut-Medoc region of Bordeaux, France. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 14th century when it was owned by the Lanessan family. Over the years, the estate has changed hands several times, but it has always maintained its reputation for producing high-quality wines.

The vineyards of Chateau Lanessan cover an area of 80 hectares and are planted with a variety of grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The estate follows traditional winemaking techniques, and the grapes are handpicked and sorted before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for up to 18 months before being bottled.

Chateau Lanessan produces a range of wines, including its flagship wine, Chateau Lanessan Haut-Medoc. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot and is known for its rich, full-bodied flavor and complex aromas of blackcurrant, tobacco, and spice. The estate also produces a second wine, Les Calèches de Lanessan, which is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and is known for its fruity, easy-drinking style.

In addition to its red wines, Chateau Lanessan also produces a white wine, Les Coteaux de Lanessan. This wine is made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes and is known for its crisp, refreshing flavor and citrusy aromas.

Overall, Chateau Lanessan is a producer of high-quality wines that are known for their rich, complex flavors and aromas. The estate's commitment to traditional winemaking techniques and its use of only the finest grapes ensure that its wines are among the best in the region.
