Clos de Vougeot is a Grand Cru appellation located in the Côte d'Or department of Burgundy, France. The vineyard encompasses 50 hectares within the commune of Vougeot, making it the largest Grand Cru site in the Côte de Nuits. The appellation takes its name from the historic Château du Clos de Vougeot, built by Cistercian monks who developed the vineyard from the 12th century onward and established the stone walls that still define its boundaries today.

The vineyard sits at elevations between 240 and 270 meters on gentle slopes with predominantly limestone and clay soils. Pinot Noir is the sole permitted grape variety, as is standard for red Grand Cru appellations in the Côte de Nuits.
