Fundada en 1731 en Beaune por Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père & Fils es una de las bodegas de vino más antiguas de Borgoña, perpetuando la tradición durante casi 3 siglos y 9 generaciones. En 1775, Joseph Bouchard adquirió sus primeros viñedos en Volnay en el famoso clima "Les Caillerets" y comenzó a desarrollar las tenencias de viñedos de la familia.

Durante la Revolución Francesa, las propiedades que pertenecían al clero y la nobleza fueron confiscadas y puestas a la venta. El hijo de Joseph, Antoine Philibert Joseph Bouchard, aprovechó la oportunidad para ampliar las tenencias de viñedos de la familia en Beaune, incluyendo el famoso "Beaune Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jesus".
