Tasting notes
Clase Azul Tequila Ultra is a premium tequila and a collector's decanter, crafted over nearly 14 years. Aged for five years in American whiskey and Spanish sherry casks, it boasts a dark amber color with copper highlights. The aroma features sherry, dried plums, apricot, and hints of maple syrup and hazelnut. Its flavor profile includes dried plums, cinnamon, crème caramel, vanilla, and crystallized ginger. Clase Azul Ultra enlists only the most highly skilled artisans to hand paint these incredible vessels practically blind since the metallic paint that is applied can only be seen after the decanter has been fired. Our master artisans paint the platinum-feather design from memory and completely freehand. The mastering of this technique can take years to perfect. A collector's treasure.

About this tequila
Clase Azul - Ultra is a premium tequila produced in Mexico. The brand was founded in 1997 by Arturo Lomeli and is known for its high-quality tequilas. Clase Azul - Ultra is made from 100% blue agave and is aged for five years in sherry casks. The tequila is then blended with a small amount of extra añejo tequila to create a smooth and complex flavour profile.
The history of Clase Azul - Ultra dates back to the ancient Aztecs, who were the first to cultivate the blue agave plant. The plant was considered sacred and was used in religious ceremonies. The Spanish conquistadors later introduced distillation techniques to the region, which led to the creation of tequila.
Clase Azul - Ultra is produced using traditional methods, with each bottle being handcrafted and hand-painted by Mexican artisans. The tequila is made using a slow-cooking process, which allows the agave to fully develop its flavour. The agave is then crushed and the juice is fermented using natural yeasts. The tequila is then distilled twice in copper stills before being aged in sherry casks.
The result is a tequila with a rich amber colour and a complex flavour profile. The aroma is a combination of vanilla, caramel, and oak, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, the tequila is smooth and velvety, with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and dried fruit. The finish is long and lingering, with a subtle smokiness.
Clase Azul - Ultra is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks, and pairs well with rich, spicy foods. It is a premium tequila that is perfect for special occasions or as a gift for tequila lovers. Its unique flavour profile and handcrafted bottle make it a standout among other tequilas on the market.
Overall, Clase Azul - Ultra is a premium tequila that is steeped in history and tradition. Its complex flavour profile and handcrafted bottle make it a standout among other tequilas on the market. It is a tequila that is best enjoyed slowly, savouring each sip and appreciating the craftsmanship that went into its production
