Domaine Drouhin-Laroze is a distinguished wine estate based in the famous village of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Burgundy region of France. The Drouhin family has been involved in winemaking since the 19th century, and today the estate is managed by Philippe Drouhin, alongside his daughter Caroline. The family owns significant parcels in some of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards, including Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze and Musigny, which contribute to the estate's high reputation.
Domaine Drouhin-Laroze focuses on producing Pinot Noir with traditional Burgundian techniques, reflecting the deep knowledge and passion the family has for winemaking. The domaine practices sustainable viticulture, aiming to maintain the health of the vineyard soil and the surrounding environment.
The wines of Domaine Drouhin-Laroze are known for their sophistication, depth, and elegance. They typically showcase the power and richness characteristic of Gevrey-Chambertin, with layers of complex flavors that include ripe red and black fruits, earthy notes, and a refined minerality. The integration of oak aging adds subtle spice and texture, enhancing the overall complexity of the wines. These characteristics make the wines highly prized among collectors and enthusiasts of Burgundian Pinot Noir.
