This Royal Cane vintage 2002 is a molasses rum produced in Barbados at Foursquare, the famous distillery in the parish of Saint-Philip in the south of the island.
It was distilled in a pot still in 2002, then aged for 20 years in ex-bourbon American white oak barrels. Aging took place entirely in Liverpool's historic docks.
This cuvée was bottled in 2022 from a single cask bearing the number M078, resulting in a total of 202 numbered copies.
this limited edition rum blends woody, honey, and herbal aromas with notes of burnt sugar and dark chocolate.
The nose reveals a strong presence of citrus fruits: lime, yellow lime, and grapefruit offer their fresh scents. After aeration, you discover beautiful vegetal and smoky notes, which are also found on the palate, accompanying liquorice and white pepper. The finish opens with exquisite saline notes.
