On the nose, notes of licorice, blackcurrant and blueberry are revealed with great finesse. The nose already opens very well in youth but we feel that this wine can offer a much broader and more complex aromatic palette. The palate is tender, delicious, the tannins still a little dry but very ripe. The fruit is juicy and develops notes of blackberries, black cherries and fig jam. A wine already well open in its youth but which is far from showing all its capabilities .

Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is a renowned wine producer located in the Cahors region of France. The history of this winery dates back to the 16th century when the Cosse family started producing wine in the area. In the 1970s, the Maisonneuve family acquired the estate and continued the tradition of winemaking. Today, the winery is run by the dynamic duo of Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve, who have taken the winery to new heights with their innovative winemaking techniques.

The winery is known for its organic and biodynamic approach to winemaking. The vineyards are cultivated without the use of any chemicals, and the grapes are handpicked to ensure the highest quality. The winery produces a range of wines, including red, white, and rosé wines. The red wines are made from the Malbec grape, which is the dominant grape variety in the Cahors region. The white wines are made from the Chenin Blanc grape, which is a rare grape variety in the region. The rosé wines are made from a blend of Malbec and Merlot grapes.

The winery produces several different wines, each with its own unique style. The Les Laquets is a red wine that is aged in oak barrels for 18 months, giving it a rich and complex flavor. The Les Laquets Blanc is a white wine that is fermented in oak barrels, giving it a creamy texture and a hint of vanilla. The Les Laquets Rosé is a refreshing wine that is perfect for summer, with its bright acidity and fruity flavors.

Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is also known for its innovative winemaking techniques. The winery uses a technique called carbonic maceration, which involves fermenting the grapes in a carbon dioxide-rich environment. This technique results in wines that are fruity and aromatic, with a soft and silky texture. The winery also uses concrete tanks for fermentation, which allows the wine to develop its natural flavors and aromas.

Overall, Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is a winery that is dedicated to producing high-quality wines using organic and biodynamic methods. The winery's commitment to innovation and tradition has made it one of the most respected wineries in the Cahors region. Whether you are a wine connoisseur or a casual wine drinker, Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve has a wine that will suit your taste.

Cahors is a wine region located in the southwest of France, known for producing rich and full-bodied red wines made from the Malbec grape. The history of Cahors wine dates back to the Roman era, when the region was known as Divona Cadurcorum and wine was already being produced. In the Middle Ages, Cahors wine was highly prized and was even served at the coronation of English kings.

Today, Cahors wine is made using traditional methods, with the grapes being hand-harvested and fermented in oak barrels. The resulting wine is deep in color, with aromas of black fruit, spice, and leather. On the palate, Cahors wine is full-bodied and tannic, with flavors of blackberry, plum, and dark chocolate.

Cahors wine is often compared to Argentine Malbec, but it has its own unique character and style. The region's terroir, which includes limestone soils and a continental climate, gives the wine its distinctive flavor profile. Cahors wine is also known for its aging potential, with some vintages able to age for decades.

If you're looking for a bold and flavorful red wine, Cahors is definitely worth trying. Whether you're pairing it with a hearty meal or sipping it on its own, Cahors wine is sure to impress.
