Rassay

Raasay Distillery is located on the Isle of Raasay, a small island between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland in the Inner Hebrides. The distillery represents one of Scotland's newer whisky producers, established on an island that had no previous history of commercial whisky production. The facility produces single malt Scotch whisky using traditional Scottish methods adapted to the unique island environment.

The Isle of Raasay's maritime climate and geological characteristics contribute distinctive qualities to the whisky maturation process. The island's position in the Inner Hebrides subjects the whisky to coastal influences, including salt air and temperature variations that can affect the aging process. The distillery utilizes both ex-bourbon and wine casks for maturation, taking advantage of the island's natural conditions to develop complex flavor profiles in their single malt expressions.
