Domaine Carneros
Domaine Carneros is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of California's Carneros region. This winery is known for its high-quality sparkling wines and still wines, making it a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts.
The Carneros region, located at the southern end of Napa and Sonoma valleys, is known for its cool climate and foggy mornings, which create ideal conditions for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Domaine Carneros takes full advantage of this unique terroir, producing elegant and complex wines that truly reflect the region's characteristics.
Established in 1987, Domaine Carneros is the brainchild of the Taittinger family, owners of the prestigious Champagne Taittinger in France. The winery's architecture is inspired by the Taittinger family's 18th-century French château, giving it a grand and elegant appearance that sets it apart from other wineries in the region.
Domaine Carneros has a deep commitment to sustainable and organic practices, using only organic fertilizers and cover crops, and practicing water conservation and solar energy usage. This dedication to sustainability not only ensures the quality of their wines but also helps preserve the environment for future generations.
The winery's signature wine is its sparkling wine, made in the traditional méthode champenoise style. Domaine Carneros produces a variety of sparkling wines, including Blanc de Blancs, Brut Rosé, and Ultra Brut, all of which have received high ratings from wine critics and have won numerous awards.
In addition to sparkling wines, Domaine Carneros also produces still wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. These wines are made with the same attention to detail and expertise as their sparkling wines, and have gained a loyal following among wine lovers.

Domaine Carneros
Domaine Carneros is a sparkling wine producer located in the Carneros appellation, which straddles the southern ends of both Napa and Sonoma counties in California. The estate was established as a joint venture between the Champagne house Taittinger and Kobrand Corporation, and its winery building, modeled after a French château, sits on a hill overlooking the vineyards. The producer focuses exclusively on méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines and Pinot Noir, drawing on the cool, fog-influenced growing conditions that define the Carneros AVA.
Carneros is one of California's cooler wine regions, benefiting from maritime influence off San Pablo Bay. These conditions, morning fog, afternoon winds, and moderate temperatures, slow grape ripening and help retain natural acidity, making the area well suited to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the two varieties that form the backbone of traditional sparkling wine production. The resulting wines tend toward elegance and freshness rather than the riper, fuller-bodied style associated with warmer parts of Napa Valley.
The Brut is the estate's signature non-vintage and vintage sparkling wine, blending Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the classic tradition. Pinot Noir typically contributes structure and red fruit character, while Chardonnay provides citrus notes and finesse. The 2018 vintage Brut reflects a single growing season and is made in the same méthode traditionnelle style, secondary fermentation in bottle, used in Champagne production.
