From a very hot and dry vintage, the Tommasi 2018 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is supple and round with plenty of soft fruit at its core. The vintage is less complex, with less depth, but it does deliver sweet tones of cherry, ripe plum and crème de cassis. Light shadings of spice and tobacco help to flesh it out. Tommasi's classic Amarone is a blend of 50% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta. The grapes are sourced from the Le Groletta and Conca d'Oro vineyards, which have medium-rich limestone soils and lots of fossils.

The Allegrini 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico shows dark fruit and spice that all point to the hot and dry conditions of this vintage. The wine is balanced with a good amount of dark fruit intensity but not overtly jammy or baked fruit. That dense fruit wraps thickly over the palate, supported by backend aromas of charred spice and campfire embers. This is a blend of 45% Corvina Veronese, 45% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta with 120 days of appassimento.
Macerated black cherries bathed in a mixture of cloves, cinnamon, thyme, and pepper waft out of the glass, inviting you to delve deeper. The silky-smooth palate is full of plums and cherries, cocoa powder, and freshly ground coffee. The wine is balanced with fine tannins and enough acidity to keep the palate fresh for the next glass.

Allegrini has crafted a wine of enormous power and opulence. The 2012 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is outsized and decisively overdone. This wine will appeal to a hard-core group of Amarone enthusiasts who appreciate extra darkness, extract, and intensity. You get all of that in this hot-vintage Amarone, and you also get a significant dose of oak spice. In fact, those toasted tones of Christmas spice, clove and dark vanilla are what first emerge from the bouquet. And they emerge with force. The wine is super thick and dense.
The 2010 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico takes a modern spin on a local classic. The blend is 90% Corvina Veronese with smaller parts Oseleta and Rondinella that add colour intensity. The wine's leading aromas revolve around Morello cherry and dark blackberry. But this New World Amarone also undergoes 18 months in new barrique. Its secondary aromas are vibrant and bold with cumin, dark spice, and barbecue smoke. In the mouth, this Amarone offers velvety tannins and thick consistency.

Allegrini is a renowned wine producer located in the Veneto region of Italy. The winery has a rich history dating back to the 16th century when the Allegrini family began producing wine in the Valpolicella region. Today, the winery is run by the fifth generation of the family and is known for its high-quality wines.

Allegrini produces a range of wines, including Valpolicella, Amarone, and Recioto. The Valpolicella is a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes and is known for its bright fruit flavors and light body. The Amarone is made from the same grapes but is dried for several months before being fermented, resulting in a rich, full-bodied wine with intense flavors of dried fruit and spice. The Recioto is a sweet wine made from partially dried grapes and is known for its rich, complex flavors.

The winery uses traditional winemaking techniques, including hand-harvesting and natural fermentation, to produce its wines. The grapes are carefully selected and sorted before being fermented in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels. The wines are then aged in oak barrels for several months to several years, depending on the style.

Allegrini is committed to sustainable winemaking practices and has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce its environmental impact. The winery uses solar panels to generate electricity and has implemented a water recycling system to reduce water usage.

Overall, Allegrini is a top producer of high-quality wines from the Veneto region of Italy. Its commitment to traditional winemaking techniques and sustainable practices has earned it a reputation as one of the best wineries in the region.

Amarone della Valpolicella is a rich and full-bodied red wine that hails from the Veneto region of Italy. This wine is made using a unique production method that involves drying the grapes before fermentation, resulting in a wine that is concentrated and complex.

The history of Amarone della Valpolicella dates back to ancient times, when the Romans first began cultivating grapes in the region. Over the centuries, the production of this wine has evolved, with modern winemakers using advanced techniques to create a wine that is both traditional and innovative.

The style of production for Amarone della Valpolicella is known as appassimento, which involves drying the grapes on straw mats for several months before fermentation. This process concentrates the sugars and flavors in the grapes, resulting in a wine that is rich and full-bodied. The grapes used to make Amarone della Valpolicella are typically Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara, although other varieties may be used as well.

Amarone della Valpolicella is a wine that is best enjoyed with food, particularly hearty meat dishes and aged cheeses. The wine's bold flavors and high alcohol content make it a perfect match for rich, savory dishes.
