On the palate, the body is globally delicate and fine, it is however enveloping, fresh and richly sapid. Particularly fruity but with a good mineral aftertaste, its white color reveals all the personality of the maremmatic terroir, reveals a precise and centered harmony and a surprising persistence, able to accompany light but ample and frank Mediterranean preparations.

Antinori is de beroemdste naam in Italiaanse wijn en de invloed van Piero Antinori in de afgelopen 25 jaar is niets minder dan revolutionair geweest. Antinori's paradepaardje, Tignanello, verscheen voor het eerst in 1971 en baarde opzien door het gebruik van cabernet sauvignon in een Sangiovese blend en door te rijpen in kleine Franse barriques. Antinori werd beschuldigd van wijnverraad en verraad, maar al snel verschenen er overal in Toscane blends van Sangiovese en Cabernet.
