Dal Forno Romano

Dal Forno Romano is a renowned wine producer located in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Founded in 1983 by Romano Dal Forno, the winery quickly gained recognition for its high-quality and innovative wines. Today, it is considered one of the top producers in the Valpolicella appellation and is highly sought after by wine connoisseurs around the world.

The Dal Forno family has been involved in winemaking for four generations, and their passion and dedication to producing exceptional wines is evident in every bottle. The estate covers 65 acres of land, with 24 of those acres dedicated to vineyards. The vines are planted in a unique soil composition of limestone, clay, and volcanic rock, which gives the wines their distinctive character and flavor profile.

One of the defining features of Dal Forno Romano is their use of the appassimento method, where the grapes are dried on straw mats for several months before being pressed. The grapes are then fermented and aged in oak barrels for several years before being bottled.

The winery produces three main wines: Valpolicella Superiore, Amarone della Valpolicella, and Recioto della Valpolicella. The Valpolicella Superiore is a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Croatina grapes, and is aged for three years, resulting in a complex and elegant wine. The Amarone della Valpolicella is made from the same grapes, but the appassimento process gives it a more intense and concentrated flavor. It is aged for four years in oak barrels and is considered one of the best Amarones in the world. The Recioto della Valpolicella is a sweet wine made from partially dried grapes and is aged for five years. It is a rich and luxurious dessert wine with flavors of dried
