The Chablis 2022 has a brilliant pale yellow color with green reflections. Its nose reveals notes of honeysuckle. Its mouth, round and fresh, reveals aromas of white peach with a mineral finish.

Louis Latour is a winery in Burgundy with more than two centuries of history. Eleven generations have been at the helm. The winery owns some 50 hectares. Louis Latour Chablis is produced in a traditional way in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation to make it creamier and less acidic. Lastly the wine remains in steel tanks for about 8 or 10 months. This wine is a pleasant, fruity, and creamy Chardonnay with a lingering and enveloping finish.

Chablis is een wijn appellation gelegen in het noordelijkste deel van de Bourgogne regio in Frankrijk. De regio staat bekend om de productie van enkele van de beste witte wijnen ter wereld, gemaakt van de druivensoort Chardonnay. De appellation Chablis beslaat een gebied van ongeveer 5.000 hectare, met wijngaarden op hellingen die uitkijken over de rivier de Serein.

De geschiedenis van de wijnbouw in Chablis gaat terug tot de Romeinse tijd, toen de regio bekend stond om de productie van wijnen van hoge kwaliteit. Het duurde echter tot de Middeleeuwen voordat de wijnen van Chablis wijdverspreide erkenning kregen. In de 19e eeuw verwoestte de druifluisepidemie de wijngaarden van Chablis, maar de regio wist zich te herstellen en zijn reputatie als producent van wijnen van wereldklasse weer op te bouwen.

De productiestijl in Chablis is uniek, met een focus op het produceren van wijnen die fris en mineraal zijn en hun terroir tot uitdrukking brengen. De wijngaarden van Chablis staan aangeplant op Kimmeridgian kalksteen, een bodemsoort die rijk is aan fossielen en mineralen uit de zee. Deze bodem geeft de wijnen van Chablis hun kenmerkende mineraliteit en complexiteit.

De Chardonnay-druif is de enige druivensoort die is toegestaan voor de productie van Chablis-wijnen.
