Maipo Valley sits in central Chile, approximately 50 kilometers south of Santiago, and stands as one of the country's most historically significant wine regions. The valley extends from the Andes Mountains in the east to the coastal ranges in the west, following the path of the Maipo River. This region gained recognition as Chile's first official wine appellation and remains the traditional heartland of Chilean viticulture, particularly known for producing some of the country's most acclaimed red wines.

The valley benefits from a Mediterranean climate with distinct wet winters and dry summers, while the Maipo River provides essential irrigation during the growing season. The terroir varies considerably across the valley's different zones, from the cooler, higher-altitude vineyards near the Andes foothills to the warmer central areas with alluvial soils.
