Located in the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils is a family-owned winery with a long history of producing exceptional wines. Founded in 1948 by Raymond Usseglio, the domaine is now run by his two grandsons, Jean-Pierre and Thierry Usseglio, who continue the family's tradition of quality winemaking.
The domaine covers 21 hectares of vineyards, with the majority of their vines planted in the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The region is known for its warm, dry climate and rocky soils, which are ideal for growing the traditional grape varieties of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. These grapes are the backbone of the domaine's red blends, which also include smaller amounts of Cinsault, Counoise, and Vaccarèse.
One of the unique aspects of Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils is their commitment to organic and sustainable farming practices. The Usseglio brothers are passionate about preserving the health of their vineyards and the environment, and as a result, all their wines are certified organic. This dedication to sustainable viticulture not only benefits the land but also translates into the exceptional quality of their wines.
The domaine produces a range of wines, including their flagship Châteauneuf-du-Pape blend, as well as single varietal wines such as their Grenache and Syrah. Their wines are known for their rich, full-bodied character and complex flavors, with notes of dark fruits, spice, and herbs. The winery also produces a white wine, made from a blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Bourboulenc, which showcases the freshness and minerality of the terroir.
Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils has received numerous accolades and awards for their wines, solidifying their reputation as one of the top producers
