The 2021 Seña wine is regarded as one of the finest vintages from this iconic label, resulting from a cooler year, akin to 2016 and 2018. It features an expressive nose that is elegant, nuanced, and complex. The grapes were harvested later than in previous years, keeping the alcohol content below 14%. This vintage is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Malbec, 17% Carmenere, and 6% Petit Verdot, predominantly fermented in stainless steel with 10% aged in oak foudre. The wine is fine-grained, structured, and juicy, reminiscent of 2018 but with greater finesse. It offers a spicy twist from the Cabernet and ultra-refined tannins, resulting in a wine with length, purity, and elegance.
The 2020 Seña is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, and 7% Petit Verdot, harvested early in the second week of March. It is primarily fermented in stainless steel, with 10% in concrete eggs, resulting in a moderate alcohol content of 13.5% and good freshness. This wine showcases subtle layers of fruit and spice, with polished tannins and integrated oak from 22 months in barriques (78% new) and 10% in large Stockinger barrels. The warmer vintages, like 2017 and 2019, have good texture and fine tannins, with the 2020 showing more grip. Overall, it is intense and complex, spicy and juicy, with the structure and acidity needed for development in the bottle.
The 2013 Seña is possibly their finest vintage, marked by cool weather that enhanced fresh flavors and elegance. This stunning blend features 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carménère, 12% Malbec, 10% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot, sourced from 42 hectares of vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley. Refined over the years, the winemaking process involved fermentation in stainless steel and aging in mostly new French oak barrels for 22 months. The wine showcases a subtle nose with red and black fruit aromas, fresh tobacco, and cracked pepper, with well-integrated oak adding spice and smoke. Its remarkable freshness, along with juicy and fine tannins, provides superb balance and symmetry.
The 2022 Seña enters on a reticent note, quietly opening up to reveal a dark, leather-bound nose with hints of turned earth, cedar, liquorice and graphite accents that manage a levity and high-toned energy. The palate is lively and spry, driven by bright treble tones balanced with weighty, broad depth and a perfectly suave texture. The finish is juicy yet tense, structured and refined, with impressive length and coiled energy. Ever-expanding in the glass, this is a gorgeous, energetic and exuberant example of poise and clarity that should be a pleasure to follow in the cellar. It's a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 9% Carmenere and 6% Petit Verdot aged 18 months mainly in French barrique with some foudre.

Aconcagua Valley is a wine region located in central Chile, just north of Santiago. The valley is named after the Aconcagua River, which flows through the region and is the highest peak in the Americas. The Aconcagua Valley is known for producing high-quality red wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

The Aconcagua Valley has a long history of winemaking, dating back to the 19th century when French winemakers first introduced European grape varieties to the region. Today, the valley is home to some of Chile's most prestigious wineries, including Errazuriz, Von Siebenthal, and San Esteban.

The style of production in the Aconcagua Valley is heavily influenced by the Mediterranean climate of the region, which is characterized by hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. The valley's vineyards are planted on steep slopes that face the Pacific Ocean, which helps to moderate the temperature and provide the grapes with ample sunlight.

The wines produced in the Aconcagua Valley are known for their rich, full-bodied flavors and complex aromas. Cabernet Sauvignon is the most widely planted grape variety in the region, and it produces wines with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and tobacco. Syrah is also popular in the Aconcagua Valley, and it produces wines with flavors of black pepper, dark chocolate, and black cherry.

Overall, the Aconcagua Valley is a must-visit destination for wine lovers who are looking for high-quality red wines that are full of flavor and complexity. Whether you are a seasoned wine connoisseur or a casual drinker, the wines of the Aconcagua Valley are sure to impress.
