Comprising old vines not from la Crau or le Pied Long (two years ago, the Bruniers purchased eight hectares of 60-year-old Grenache, specifically for this cuvée) and young vines from those lieux-dits, the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Telegramme delivers pretty notions of strawberries and raspberries, plus just a hint of chocolate. Full-bodied but silky, fine and elegant, this looks like the finest wine I've tasted under this label—a solid wine of its own.

The plump, succulent 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape Telegramme offers cheerful strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, silky and elegant, offering plenty of near-term enjoyment. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

Domaine Du Vieux Telegraphe is a renowned wine producer located in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region of France. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 18th century when it was established by the Brunier family. The vineyards are situated on the highest point of the appellation, which provides the vines with optimal exposure to the sun and a unique terroir that is rich in limestone and clay.

The estate is known for its traditional winemaking techniques, which have been passed down through generations of the Brunier family. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted before being fermented in large concrete tanks. The wines are then aged in oak barrels for up to 18 months, depending on the vintage.

Domaine Du Vieux Telegraphe produces a range of wines, including red, white, and rosé. The red wines are made from a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes, which are grown on the estate's oldest vines. The wines are full-bodied and complex, with notes of dark fruit, spice, and earth. The white wines are made from a blend of Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Bourboulenc grapes, which are grown on the estate's highest vineyards. The wines are crisp and refreshing, with notes of citrus and white flowers. The rosé is made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre grapes, which are grown on the estate's sandy soils. The wine is light and fruity, with notes of strawberry and raspberry.

Domaine Du Vieux Telegraphe is committed to sustainable viticulture and has implemented a range of practices to reduce its environmental impact. The estate uses natural fertilizers and cover crops to improve soil health and reduce erosion. The vineyards are also managed using integrated pest management techniques, which minimize the use of pesticides and herbicides.

Overall, Domaine Du Vieux Telegraphe is a producer of exceptional wines that are highly sought after by wine enthusiasts around the world. The estate's commitment to traditional winemaking techniques and sustainable viticulture has earned it a reputation as one of the finest producers in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region.

Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a wine appellation located in the southern Rhone Valley of France. The history of this region dates back to the 14th century when Pope Clement V moved the papal court from Rome to Avignon. The papacy had a significant influence on the wine production in the region, and it was during this time that the vineyards of Chateauneuf-du-Pape were established.

The style of production in Chateauneuf-du-Pape is unique and is characterized by the use of a variety of grape varieties. The appellation allows for up to 18 different grape varieties to be used in the production of its wines. The most commonly used grape varieties are Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. The wines produced in Chateauneuf-du-Pape are known for their complexity, depth, and richness.

The vineyards of Chateauneuf-du-Pape are located on a plateau that is covered with large stones, which help to retain heat and reflect it back onto the vines. This unique terroir, combined with the Mediterranean climate, creates ideal growing conditions for the grapes. The vines are grown using traditional methods, and the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure the highest quality.

The wines produced in Chateauneuf-du-Pape are typically full-bodied and rich, with a deep ruby colour. They are known for their complex aromas of dark fruit, spices, and herbs. The tannins in these wines are firm but well-integrated, providing structure and balance. The wines are aged in oak barrels, which adds a subtle vanilla and spice flavour to the wine.

The most common wine produced in Chateauneuf-du-Pape is the red wine, which accounts for around 95% of the production. The white wine produced in the region is made from a blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Clairette grapes. The white wines are typically full-bodied and rich, with flavours of honey, apricot, and citrus.

In conclusion, Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a unique wine appellation that produces some of the most complex and rich wines in the world. The combination of the unique terroir, traditional methods of production, and the use of a variety of grape varieties creates wines that are truly exceptional. If you are looking for a wine that is full-bodied, rich, and complex, then Chateauneuf-du-Pape is the perfect choice.
