Château Purcari is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of Moldova, a small country in Eastern Europe known for its rich winemaking history. The winery is situated in the Purcari region, which has been producing wine since the 19th century and is considered one of the oldest wine regions in Moldova.
The Château Purcari estate has a long and fascinating history, dating back to 1827 when it was founded by a local landowner named Constantin Mimi. The winery quickly gained recognition for its high-quality wines and became the official supplier to the Russian Imperial Court. Its wines were also highly sought after in Europe, winning numerous awards at international wine competitions.
Today, Château Purcari continues to produce exceptional wines using a combination of modern techniques and traditional winemaking methods. The estate covers over 300 hectares of vineyards, planted with a variety of grapes including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and Rara Neagra (a local grape variety). The winery's flagship wine is the Negru de Purcari, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Rara Neagra, and Saperavi grapes.
