Tasting notes
A wonderful example of what Japanese whisky is capable of. We absolutely love this. Extremely smooth, with great complexity and a lovely balance of fruit, silky malt and a touch of smoke.

About this whisky
Yamazaki is a Japanese whisky producer that has been in operation since 1923. Located in the town of Yamazaki between Kyoto and Osaka, the company was founded by Shinjiro Torii with a vision of creating a whisky that could rival the best Scotch whiskies. The Yamazaki 18-year-old is a single malt whisky that is aged for 18 years in a combination of American, Spanish, and Japanese oak casks, resulting in a complex and well-balanced whisky that has won numerous awards and accolades.
The nose of the Yamazaki 18-year-old is rich and fruity, with notes of apricot, peach, and orange peel, as well as hints of vanilla, honey, and oak. On the palate, the whisky is smooth and creamy, with flavors of dried fruit, caramel, and spice. The finish is long and warming, with a touch of smoke and a hint of sherry.
Yamazaki is known for its attention to detail and its commitment to quality. The company uses only the finest ingredients and employs traditional methods of production to create its whiskies. The water used in the production of Yamazaki whisky comes from the nearby Oyamazaki River, which is known for its purity and clarity.
Overall, the Yamazaki 18-year-old is a superb whisky that is sure to impress even the most discerning whisky connoisseur. Its complex flavors and aromas make it a perfect choice for sipping on its own, or for pairing with a fine cigar or a rich dessert. Whether you are a seasoned whisky drinker or a newcomer to the world of Japanese whisky, the Yamazaki 18-year-old is a must-try.
