A light yellow colour with silver highlights. A nose that develops intense notes of sour candy that evoke strawberry, banana and white peach. A few citrus accents enhance the nose with fresh touches. Provence is a region in the south-east of France that is renowned for its production of rosé wines. The history of winemaking in Provence dates back to ancient times, with the Greeks and Romans introducing viticulture to the region. The style of production in Provence is heavily influenced by the Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters. The wines produced in Provence are typically light and refreshing, with a pale pink colour and delicate aromas of red fruits and flowers. The most common grape varieties used in Provence are Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. In addition to rosé, Provence also produces red and white wines, as well as fortified wines such as Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise. Overall, Provence is a region that is known for its high-quality wines that are perfect for enjoying on a warm summer day.

The Méditerranée Indication Géographique Protégée (IGP) is a wine appellation that covers a vast area in the south-eastern region of France, encompassing Provence, the Rhône Valley, and parts of the Southern Alps. This designation allows for creative winemaking while preserving the unique character of the Mediterranean climate and terroir.

Wines produced under the Méditerranée IGP label showcase a broad diversity of styles and grape varieties. Both international and traditional French grapes are cultivated, including Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Viognier, and Chardonnay, among others. This flexibility encourages winemakers to blend traditional and modern approaches, resulting in wines that range from light, aromatic whites and rosés to robust, fruit-forward reds.

The region's warm climate, abundant sunshine, and cooling influences from the Mediterranean Sea contribute to wines with vibrant fruit flavours, balanced acidity, and a touch of minerality. These characteristics make Méditerranée IGP wines highly versatile and ideal for pairing with Mediterranean cuisine or enjoying on their own.

As an IGP classification, Méditerranée offers winemakers the freedom to innovate while ensuring quality standards, making it an exciting and approachable category for wine lovers.
