La Belle Epoque 2015 is adorned with a pale gold colour, clear and luminous. On the nose, it is a champagne which offers notes of white peach and pink grapefruit, as well as a floral touch. On the palate, the balance is remarkable, with a delicate and fruity attack. In the mid-palate, we find notes of pear and spices.
Perrier-Jouët's newly released 2014 Brut Belle Epoque is a giving, demonstrative wine that bursts from the glass with scents of mirabelle plum, confit citrus, buttery pastry and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming, it's seamless and elegant, with a pinpoint mousse and a fleshy core of fruit that's amplified by enough dosage to be noticeable. A touch finer-boned than the similarly successful 2012, it constitutes another fine effort from this house.

Unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, freshly baked bread, honeycomb and warm biscuits, Perrier-Jouët's 2012 Brut Belle Epoque is medium to full-bodied, deep and seamless, with a rich, elegantly layered core of fruit, bright acids and an ultra-refined mousse, concluding with a long, precise finish. Fleshy and charming, this numbers among the finest recent renditions of this famous prestige cuvée.

Perrier-Jouët owns 65 hectares of vineyards classified as 99.2% on the échelle des crus classification of vineyards, including forty hectares of Chardonnay for the Cramant and Avize grands crus. Chardonnay, a floral, elegant and refined grape variety, is Perrier-Jouët’s signature wine.

Perrier-Jouët only produces wine in small volumes. Successive cellar masters have managed to preserve its historic treasures, including its first vintages, like Perrier-Jouët 1825 – the oldest champagne currently in existence.

In 1668, Dom Pérignon is said to have discovered how to make sparkling wine; today his technique is used the world over, although Champagne continues to make some of the finest. France’s most northerly wine region, Champagne is now home to 15,000 growers and 290 ‘houses’. A blend of grape varieties is usually required: white Chardonnay to add fruit and elegance, and two reds – Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – to provide body and backbone.
