Martell VSOP wears a golden medallion bearing the effigy of Louis XIV and commemorates the year 1715, which saw the birth of the House of Martell. Its blend is the result of a perfect balance between old eaux-de-vie from the four best vintages of the Cognac region. A balanced cognac, marked by the scent of oak. The length of its ageing in barrels allowed it to develop complex aromas and notes of prunes and caramelised dried fruits.

The oldest Cognac house was created in 1715 by the Englishman Jean Martell, then barely 20 years old and attracted by the already worldwide fame of Charente eaux-de-vie. His business is prosperous and a century later, his Cognacs are exported worldwide.

In 1912, Martell cognacs passed a historic milestone by entering the world of luxury thanks to the creation of Édouard Martell: Cordon Bleu, the star of cognacs! Martell became a symbol of refinement and thus took place in 1936, aboard the famous Queen Mary for her maiden voyage.

Today, Martell is the 3rd world brand of Cognac. Master of all of its production, from distillation to bottling, including blending and ageing, it has chosen to produce Cognacs from the 4 main appellations of the region and to give pride of place to Borderies. , 3rd growth in the hierarchy of Cognac, renowned for its elegance. This know-how associated with oak barrels from the Tronçais forest in which they age for many years, gives birth to Cognacs of extreme finesse, floral and fragrant, preciously preserved in bottles with subtle lines.

Cognac is a type of brandy that is produced in the Cognac region of France. The history of Cognac dates back to the 16th century, when Dutch traders began distilling wine to create a spirit that could withstand long sea voyages. The process of making Cognac involves distilling wine twice in copper pot stills, and then aging the resulting spirit in oak barrels for a minimum of two years.

One of the most highly ranked Cognac producers is Hennessy. Founded in 1765, Hennessy is the largest Cognac producer in the world. Their Cognacs are known for their smoothness and complexity, with notes of vanilla, oak, and fruit. Hennessy produces a range of Cognacs, from their entry-level VS (Very Special) to their high-end Paradis Imperial.

Another highly ranked Cognac producer is Remy Martin. Founded in 1724, Remy Martin is known for their high-quality Cognacs that are aged for longer than the minimum two years. Their Cognacs are characterized by their rich, fruity flavors and aromas, with notes of apricot, peach, and honey. Remy Martin produces a range of Cognacs, from their VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) to their Louis XIII, which is aged for up to 100 years.

Courvoisier is another highly ranked Cognac producer. Founded in 1809, Courvoisier is known for their smooth, elegant Cognacs that are aged for longer than the minimum two years. Their Cognacs are characterized by their floral and fruity aromas, with notes of jasmine, iris, and violet. Courvoisier produces a range of Cognacs, from their VS to their XO (Extra Old).

Martell is also a highly ranked Cognac producer. Founded in 1715, Martell is known for their smooth, well-balanced Cognacs that are aged for longer than the minimum two years. In addition to these top Cognac producers, there are also a number of smaller, boutique producers that are highly ranked in Google searches. These producers often focus on producing Cognacs that are aged for longer than the minimum two years, and that have unique flavor profiles. Some of these producers include Frapin, Delamain, and Hine.
