Domaine Chavy-Chouet

Domaine Chavy-Chouet is a family domaine based in Meursault, one of the most celebrated white wine villages on the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The domaine produces wines from Chardonnay, working with vineyard holdings across Meursault and its classified sites. Meursault itself sits between Puligny-Montrachet to the south and Volnay to the north, and while it lacks a Grand Cru designation, its Premier Cru vineyards are regarded among the finest expressions of white Burgundy.

Meursault Chardonnay is typically characterized by a richer, more textural style compared to its neighbours, with notes of hazelnut, butter, and stone fruit often developing alongside a firm mineral backbone. The village's soils shift across its hillside, and the Premier Cru sites in particular — including Les Charmes, Les Perrières, and Les Genevrières — benefit from well-drained limestone and clay that lend structure and aging potential to the wines. Winemaking in Meursault traditionally involves barrel fermentation and aging on lees, which contributes to the characteristic weight and complexity of the appellation.

Les Charmes is one of Meursault's larger and more approachable Premier Cru vineyards, situated in the lower portion of the slope.
