Domaine Schoffit - Clos Saint-Théobald Rangen de Thann - Grand Cru Riesling

The Schoffit family has been present in Colmar since the 16th century, and grows grapes on some of the most unique plots in Alsace. Domaine Schoffit, officially founded in 1973 operates 17 hectares of vines from Berghein to Thann, or nearly 60 kilometres from north to south. The family believes that quality starts in the vineyard, therefore undertaking most of the work there by hand, paying special attention to the soil and the vines. Grapes are harvested at full maturity, resulting in low yields, but producing healthy, concentrated, expressive wines that are most importantly balanced.
