Tasting Notes

Clase Azul Mezcal Durango is a distinctive spirit from wild Cenizo Agave in Durango, Northern Mexico. It's smoky character and complex flavors come from mineral-rich soil and natural spring water. Crafted using traditional artisanal methods, this mezcal honours ancient production practices. The colour is bright and crystalline with silver sparkles, featuring a medium body and aromas of citrus, herbal notes, green olive, cooked agave, and cloves. The flavours reveal peanut, brown sugar, honey, wood, chocolate, and hints of ripe fruit. The raw beauty of black clay inspires its dark and textured decanter. The design of this special piece is carved by hand by artisans from a small community of the Mazahua people. Artisans from the Wixárika culture are the creators of its unique and colourful cap.

Clase Azul is a tequila producer based in Mexico. The brand produces tequila across multiple expressions, working within the Mexican tequila category with a focus on different aging classifications that define their core range.

Clase Azul's portfolio spans the primary tequila styles: Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo expressions. These classifications reflect varying periods of barrel aging, from unaged Blanco to Reposado rested in oak and Anejo aged for extended maturation. The brand's product line demonstrates the traditional tiered approach to tequila production, where each style offers distinct flavor development based on its aging process.

The current selection includes Clase Azul Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo, providing options across the standard tequila aging spectrum. This range allows consumers to experience how barrel contact influences the spirit's character, from the fresh, direct profile of unaged tequila to the deeper, wood-influenced characteristics of aged expressions.
