Château Marquis De Terme is a renowned wine producer located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, France. The history of this estate dates back to the 18th century when it was owned by the Marquis de Terme family. The estate was later sold to various owners until it was acquired by the Sénéclauze family in 1935. Since then, the family has been dedicated to producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Margaux appellation.

The vineyards of Château Marquis De Terme cover 40 hectares and are planted with a blend of grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The soil is composed of gravel, sand, and clay, which provides excellent drainage and contributes to the complexity of the wines. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.

The wines of Château Marquis De Terme are known for their elegance, finesse, and balance. They are characterized by their deep ruby color, aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, and tobacco, and a long, smooth finish. The estate produces two red wines, the Château Marquis De Terme and the La Couronne De Marquis De Terme. The former is the flagship wine of the estate and is aged in oak barrels for 18 months, while the latter is a second wine that is aged for 12 months.

Château Marquis De Terme has received numerous accolades over the years, including a rating of 90+ points from wine critic Robert Parker. The estate is also a member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, which is a prestigious association of top Bordeaux wine producers.

In conclusion, Château Marquis De Terme is a producer of exceptional Bordeaux wines that are highly sought after by wine enthusiasts around the world. The estate's commitment to quality and tradition has earned it a well-deserved reputation as one of the top wine producers in the Margaux appellation.

Bordeaux, in the southwest of France, needs little introduction as one of the world's most famous, prestigious and prolific wine regions. The majority of Bordeaux wines (nearly 90 percent of production volume) are the dry, medium- and full-bodied red Bordeaux Blends that established its reputation.

The finest (and most expensive) of these are the wines from the great châteaux of the Haut-Médoc and the Right Bank appellations Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. The former is focused (at the top level) on Cabernet Sauvignon, the latter pair on on Merlot.

The legendary reds are complemented by high-quality white wines based on Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. These range from dry whites to challenge the best from the Burgundy region (Pessac-Léognan is particularly renowned) to the sweet, botrytized nectars of Sauternes.

Margaux is one of the most celebrated communes within the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux's Left Bank. Located approximately 25 kilometers north of Bordeaux city, the appellation encompasses the commune of Margaux itself along with portions of Arsac, Cantenac, Labarde, and Soussans. The Margaux AOC was established in 1954 and covers roughly 1,413 hectares of vineyards.

The terroir of Margaux is distinguished by its gravel-based soils mixed with sand and clay, deposited over millennia by the Gironde estuary. This well-draining soil composition, combined with the maritime climate influence of the nearby Atlantic Ocean, creates ideal conditions for ripening Bordeaux's traditional grape varieties. The appellation permits Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and occasionally Carménère, with winemakers typically blending these varieties to achieve complexity and balance.

Margaux wines are renowned for their elegance and finesse, often described as the most feminine of the Left Bank appellations. The predominance of gravel soils tends to favor Cabernet Sauvignon, which contributes structure and longevity, while the varying proportions of Merlot and Cabernet Franc add suppleness and aromatic complexity. These wines typically display refined tannins, floral aromatics, and flavors ranging from blackcurrant and cedar to violet and graphite, with the finest examples demonstrating remarkable aging potential spanning decades.
