Castello di Ama settles on a tried-and-true formula with its Chianti Classico Ama. The trick is to present the elegant side of Sangiovese (blended in this case with a touch of Merlot) while also remaining fun, accessible and easy-drinking. This wine brings forth a bit more heat and fruit concentration, but it also shows delicate cassis, red rose and Mediterranean aromas. The tannins are gentle and the mouthfeel is streamlined.
The 2014 Chianti Classico Ama is a less formal wine with a lean and somewhat watery mouthfeel. This wine does not deliver the same level of intensity seen in previous vintages. However, it does exhibit mild aromas of wild berry and white almond followed by fresh acidity and food-friendly appeal.

Castello Di Ama is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. The history of this estate dates back to the 12th century when it was first established as a castle. Over the centuries, the estate has undergone several transformations, and it wasn't until the 1970s that it became a winery.

Castello Di Ama is known for its Chianti Classico wines, which are made from Sangiovese grapes. The winery produces several different Chianti Classico wines, each with its own unique character and style. The wines are aged in oak barrels, which gives them a rich and complex flavor profile.

In addition to Chianti Classico, Castello Di Ama also produces a range of other wines, including a Super Tuscan blend called L'Apparita. This wine is made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes and is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. The result is a wine that is full-bodied and rich, with notes of blackberry, cherry, and vanilla.

Castello Di Ama is committed to sustainable and organic farming practices. The winery uses only natural fertilizers and pesticides, and they have implemented several measures to reduce their carbon footprint. This commitment to sustainability is reflected in the quality of their wines, which are known for their purity and depth of flavor.

Italy's most ancient wine region, Tuscany may not be a heavyweight in terms of quantity, but as the home of two of the country's most famous fine wines – Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino – it certainly holds its own in terms of quality. Tuscany's climate ranges from Mediterranean on the coast to continental deep in the Apennines. More than two thirds of the province is covered with hills, an important terroir factor in its fine wines.
