Located in the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine de la Fruitière is a family-owned wine producer that has been crafting exceptional wines for over six generations. Situated in the Pays de la Loire region, the estate is known for its high-quality wines that truly reflect the terroir and showcase the best of the Loire Valley.
The winery was founded in 1885 by the Reverdy family and is currently run by the fifth generation of the family. The estate covers 80 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with the famous Chenin Blanc grape, but also with some Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The vineyards are located in the appellation of Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine, known for its mineral-rich soils and cool climate, ideal for producing fresh and elegant wines.
The winemaking philosophy at Domaine de la Fruitière is centered around respecting the environment and creating wines that are a true expression of the terroir. The vineyards are managed using sustainable viticulture practices, and the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure only the best quality fruit is used in production. The winery also focuses on minimal intervention in the winemaking process, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes to shine through in the final product.
One of the standout wines from Domaine de la Fruitière is their Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie. Made from 100% Chenin Blanc, this wine is aged on its lees for several months, giving it a rich and creamy texture. On the nose, it boasts aromas of green apple, citrus, and white flowers, while on the palate, it offers a refreshing acidity with notes of pear and subtle minerality. This wine is the perfect pairing for seafood dishes, especially oysters, as Muscadet is known for its ability to complement shellfish.
