Located in the heart of the Veneto region in Northern Italy, the Zenato winery is a family-owned producer that has been crafting high-quality wines for over 60 years. The winery is situated on the shores of Lake Garda, a picturesque setting that provides optimal conditions for growing grapes.
The Zenato family has been involved in winemaking since the early 1900s, when patriarch Sergio Zenato began producing wines in the Valpolicella region. In the 1960s, his son, Alberto Zenato, took over the family business and expanded it to include the Lugana and Amarone regions. Today, the winery is run by Alberto's children, Nadia and Alberto Jr., who continue to honor their family's legacy by producing exceptional wines.
The Veneto region is known for its diverse landscape, with rolling hills, fertile plains, and the stunning Lake Garda. This unique terroir, combined with the Zenato family's expertise, results in wines that are full of character and expression of their origins. The winery focuses on producing wines that showcase the indigenous grape varieties of the region, including Corvina, Rondinella, and Garganega.
One of Zenato's most renowned wines is their Lugana, made from 100% Trebbiano di Lugana grapes. This white wine is produced in the southern part of Lake Garda and is known for its crisp acidity and floral aromas. The Lugana DOC appellation is one of the smallest in Italy, covering just 1,000 hectares, and Zenato is one of the leading producers in the area.
Another standout wine from Zenato is their Valpolicella Superiore, made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Sangiovese grapes. This red wine is aged for at least one year in oak barrels, resulting in a complex and elegant wine with notes of dark cherry, spices, and a hint
