The Bowmore 21 Year Old Aston Martin Masters' Selection Edition 4 is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky, marking the culmination of the collaboration between Bowmore's master blender Ron Welsh and Aston Martin's chief creative officer, Marek Reichman. This 21-year-old expression is matured in a combination of Tawny Port American oak casks and Oloroso sherry butts, resulting in a complex and refined profile. Sweet notes of roasted chestnuts and honey lead to rich salted toffee, grilled Seville orange zest, and dry thyme. Additional flavours of sultanas, oak spices, velvety milk chocolate, and peat smoke contribute to its depth.

Islay is a small island located off the west coast of Scotland, known for its peaty and smoky single malt whiskies. The island has a long history of whisky production, dating back to the early 18th century. The unique character of Islay whisky is attributed to the island's peat bogs, which are used to dry the malted barley, giving the whisky its distinctive smoky flavor.

Islay is home to eight working distilleries, each with its own unique style and character. Ardbeg, Laphroaig, and Lagavulin are among the most well-known and highly regarded distilleries on the island, producing rich, complex whiskies with notes of smoke, seaweed, and brine. Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Caol Ila, Kilchoman, and Bunnahabhain are also popular distilleries on the island, each with its own distinct style and flavor profile.

In addition to whisky, Islay is also known for its gin production. The Botanist, produced by Bruichladdich distillery, is a popular gin made with 22 botanicals, many of which are native to the island. The gin has a complex, herbaceous flavor profile, with notes of juniper, citrus, and wildflowers.

Overall, Islay is a must-visit destination for whisky and gin enthusiasts, offering a unique and diverse range of spirits that are deeply rooted in the island's history and culture.
