Flor de Pingus 2023 is a pure, well-defined and elegant red, driven by notes of cherries. The aromatics are pretty and expressive, and the style is fresh rather than heavy, with the characteristic texture of Tempranillo and its elegance intact. A touch of Garnacha adds to its distinctive character. The palate is juicy and fresh, with tannins that are not harsh and a sense of tension running through it. The finish is clean, fresh and long. The concentration is restrained, which keeps the wine light on its feet and balanced.

Alle wijngaarden van het landgoed zijn gecertificeerd biologisch, en dit is pure Tinta del País, de lokale clone van Tempranillo, van 40 hectare op vijf verschillende locaties (parajes) van het dorp La Horra waar de Pingus wijngaarden ook liggen. Het giste met natuurlijke gisten en natuurlijke malolactische gisting en rijpte 18 maanden in Franse eiken vaten, 25% nieuw. De wijn was iets houttiger dan normaal, maar de hoeveelheid nieuw hout is niet hoger dan normaal. Het gehemelte vertoonde veel beter karakter, met zeer fijne en geslepen tannines. Er is frisheid, zelfs rode vruchten, en goede balans.
