Domaine Chavy-Chouet is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the prestigious Burgundy region in France. The estate has been in the Chavy family for over 200 years and is currently run by the fifth generation winemakers, brothers Philippe and Jean-Louis Chavy.
The estate covers 17 hectares of prime vineyard land in the Côte de Beaune region, with some of their plots being classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru. The vineyards are located in the villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, and Volnay, known for producing some of the finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the world.
The winemaking philosophy at Domaine Chavy-Chouet is centered around preserving the unique characteristics of each terroir. The Chavy brothers work closely with their vines, practicing sustainable and organic viticulture methods to ensure the health of the soil and the quality of the grapes. They also hand-harvest their grapes and use minimal intervention in the winemaking process, allowing the natural expression of the grapes to shine through in their wines.
One of the standout wines from Domaine Chavy-Chouet is their Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Folatières. This single-vineyard wine is a perfect representation of the terroir, with its mineral-driven, elegant flavors and aromas of citrus and white flowers. It is a true reflection of the exceptional quality of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation.
The estate also produces a range of other white and red wines, including a Meursault Premier Cru Charmes with its rich and complex flavors of honey, toasted almonds, and ripe stone fruits. Their Volnay Premier Cru Clos des Chênes is a beautifully balanced and silky Pinot Noir, with notes of red berries and hints of spice.
