Château Paveil de Luze is a wine estate located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. The property sits within the Haut-Médoc, producing red wines under the Margaux AOC designation. The de Luze family, historically connected to the Bordeaux wine trade, has long been associated with the estate.
Margaux is one of the most celebrated of the six communal appellations within the Médoc, covering villages including Margaux, Cantenac, Soussans, Arsac, and Labarde. The appellation is known for producing wines of particular finesse and aromatic complexity, with soils dominated by deep gravel beds over clay subsoils that provide excellent drainage and moderate vine stress. Cabernet Sauvignon is typically the dominant variety, blended with Merlot and occasionally Petit Verdot or Cabernet Franc, yielding wines with characteristic floral notes, firm but polished tannins, and good aging potential.
Château Paveil de Luze works with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the classic Margaux blend. The 2016 vintage, one of the finest recent years across the Médoc, reflects a growing season marked by good ripening conditions and balanced acidity, producing structured wines with notable concentration and longevity.
