Pouilly-Fuissé is an appellation d'origine contrôlée located in the Mâconnais district of southern Burgundy, France. The appellation encompasses four communes: Chaintré, Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, and Vergisson. The vineyards are situated on limestone-rich slopes surrounding the distinctive rock formations of Solutré and Vergisson, which rise dramatically from the valley floor and serve as geological landmarks of the region.

The appellation's terroir is characterized by Jurassic limestone soils with varying amounts of clay and marl, creating diverse microclimates across different vineyard sites.
