Tasting Notes
On the palate, the 2023 vintage exhibits a lush texture with ample extract, balanced by sufficient acidity that brings harmony to the wine. While it may not possess the same intensity or concentration as some other premier crus, its combination of ripe fruit and smoky reductive notes makes it appealing for mid-term cellaring. "fresh and malic, with plenty of energy''.

Bright and precise on the nose, with white peach, lime zest and a chalky lift. The palate is racy yet textured, apple and orchard blossom over wet stone, closing clean with a saline, persistent finish.
The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon is lovely, unwinding in the glass with notes of citrus zest and pear mingled with hints of white flowers, bread dough and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with racy acids and a fine-boned, elegant profile, it concludes with a long, saline finish.
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon has turned out very nicely, mingling aromas of pear and citrus oil with hints of wheat toast, fresh bread and hazelnuts in an inviting bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with terrific cut and a long, saline finish, it's taut and incisive, showing promise for the cellar.

The 2014 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon had a slightly muted bouquet: flinty at first, straight-laced with just a touch of dewy green apple. The palate is fresh on the entry with a bright opening and then it hunkers down towards a more stony, precise, flinty finish. Understated perhaps, but there is good length here.
